Dr. Jean Feldman and Patrick Jones will be hosting a festive workshop for individuals who work with children and teens. The Reaching Reluctant Readers workshop will be held on Friday November 13, 2009 from 9 am - 4 pm. This FREE workshop will be hosted at the NEW Southwest Chatham Branch Library. Dr. Jean Feldman - has more than 35 years of educational experience as a classroom teacher, instructor of adults, author and consultation. Dr. Feldman is the author of "A Survival Guide for Preschool Teachers," "The Complete Book of Indoor and Outdoor Games and Activities," "Ready, Set, Read!" "Teaching Tunes," and "The Best of Dr. Jean" series. Her recording include: "Is Everybody Happy?" "Nursery Rhymes and Good Ol' Times," "Kiss Your Brain!" "All Day Long," and "Just for FUN!" Patrick Jones, a former librarian for teenagers, now writes fiction for teen titles include: "Stolen Car," "Chasing Taillights," "Cheated" and "Nailed." His first young-adult novel, "Things Change" was named by the Young Adult Library Services Association as a Best Book for Reluctant Readers. His most recent professional publication is "Connecting with Reluctant Readers." In 2006, Jones won lifetime achievement awards from both the Catholic Library Association and the American Library Association and he won the Scholastic Library Publishing Award.
