What started out as a small bicycle ride amongst a couple of fire fighters and their families has turned into something unexpected and all for a good cause.
Mary Fischer Haynes, who this ride is named after, died on March 11, 2007 from breast cancer at the age of 57. She was a 1967 graduate of Jenkins High School, and later attended Armstrong Atlantic State University. The ride is being hosted by the 165th Airlift Wing Fire Department Cycling Team out of the Savannah-Hilton Head International Airport. Price: $50.
